Beechtree Golf Club

Project Description: In 1988, James F. Knott teamed with world-famous golf course architect Tom Doak to develop, construct and manage this upscale public golf course and its award-winning clubhouse. After ten years of ownership, Knott decided to close the top-100 rated Beechtree Golf Club to focus on the demands of BRAC (the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission), and sold the property for redevelopment.

Rolling Heights Business Park

Project Description: Knott understood the changes in the marketplace and was seeking the highest and best use for this property. Therefore, when the building went vacant, Knott decided to convert a bakery manufacturing plant into a single-story office building. Some of the changes made include a new roof, new windows around the entire building, a new parking lot and new landscaping. The resulting office building fits well with the surrounding structures and meets the demand criteria for that market.

Bowling Brook

Project Description: Knott developed this 208-acre site, which is a mixture of townhomes and apartments with a community center. Knott constructed the apartments and property infrastructure, handled the sale of the lots and partnered with several national homebuilders to complete the townhomes. Knott currently owns and manages the apartment units as well as the clubhouse.

Health Care Financing Administration of the United States

Iron Mountain Records Management Company occupies 380,000 square feet from Knott, most of which is the result of a sale of a records storage business created and sold by Jim Knott. This property is conveniently located along the Baltimore-Washington corridor, with easy access to I-95, Route 1, Route 32 and I- 295. The industrial park is just ten miles from BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport and within close proximity to Fort Meade and the NSA. Today, this premier industrial project is still considered one of Knott’s core assets.

Emerson Corporate Commons Office Park

Maryland Food Center

Project Description: In the mid-1980s, Knott purchased two warehouses in the Maryland Food Center located in Jessup, Maryland. After many years of ownership, Knott decided to sell this aging project with zoning restrictions to a national Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT).
